Wormery

This wormery  has long been used in the United States and Australia as an effective and natural way of recycling kitchen and garden waste into rich organic compost or "black gold"

It is now becoming extremely popular in the UK as people realise that by using this wormery they can quickly turn household waste into a high quality compost.

This wormery is designed to ensure that compost can be creamed off on a very regular basis.

This is done quite simply by placing the worms into the wormery and feeding them  food waste. In the wormery the worms will eat the food, expel it and in this way turn it into worm cast.

This wormery known as the worm factory ensures that there is no smell and no escaping worms.

The wormery  is constructed from high quality recycled plastic, with a limited 5 year warranty on
materials and workmanship. It is very simple to assemble and can be stored inside or out.

Using the Wormery -  8 simple steps

wormery - wormery explaination This wormery is supplied complete with:
  • Three trays
  • A coir block for bedding
  • Worms
  • Meal
  • Lime

In this wormery there are three trays.

  1. Place the worm bedding supplied into the bottom tray of the wormery and add water.
  2. Place the worms on top.
  3. Add some food scraps and place the other worm trays and lid on top. Then wait for a week or so to let the worms do their work. This wormery is that simple!
  4.  When the worms have finished eating the food scaps add some more and continue to do this until the tray is full.
  5. Add some food to the second tray of the wormery. The worms will move up by themselves to the second tray in the wormery, leaving the first tray free to use as compost.
  6. Sprinkle a light dusting of meal on a weekly basis.
  7. Water on a weekly basis. The excess water will collect in the bottom of the wormery where it can be drained off for worm tea.
  8. Sprinkle a light dusting of lime on the bedding once a month.
This wormery avoids the pitfall of some inferior models on the market. There will be no escaping worms, no smell and plenty of compost!
